one body, His

one body

Many leaves have fallen to the ground

Lying in piles of color, meshed together as one

It’s a body; one with shallowness just as well

As kindness; strength just as much as gentleness

And a breath that is fed by the one powerful wind-

They wrestle with each other,

Falling helplessly in and out of the other

Reforming the group a million times over-

In the end, they are all leaves

And without any doubt at all, they are all locked in

Without the breeze to move them about-

Every color has its’ own uniqueness to it,

Its own curves, edges, and veins

That make it stand out among the body

But my, the breathtaking image it is,

To see them all together as one,

Rather than one at a time, still on the ground

Ephesians 4:4-6 There is one body and one Spirit- just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call- one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

simple thought

I am quickly realizing how beautiful, paramount, and necessary it is be a part of God’s body. I cannot properly love or follow without the accountability and encouragement that is provided through other believers; nor can they without mine.
